ProStrainer with "Direct Connect"

It is common knowledge that water pump performance is subject to several things. The pump must be properly sized for the system flow rate and TDH. Second, the NPSH available should be greater than or equal to the NPSH required to avoid pump cavitation. During normal operation, it should perform at the most efficient part of the pump curve. On a non-integral strainer, their should be an undisturbed, non-turbulent stream of water 4 to 5 times longer than the influent diameter of the pump volute. Due to the horizontal design of ProStrainer's body this criteria is easily accomplished. Any pump specified can be directly connected to the strainer body effluent wall. The extremely low profile of ProStrainerâ„¢ (6 inches from floor to center of volute, if floor mounted) can improve the overall NPSH available. This improves pump performance and reduces the risk of cavitation. It also allows for a smaller design and installation footprint in the mechanical room.
