A revolutionary invention for water safety
Simple. Different. Better

Straining the water before it enters a pump volute is an absolute necessity, which up until now, has always been handled by the conventional "pot" or "T" strainer. These devices are shaped like a big pot and have a round basket to catch the debris. The problem with this design is that it begins to clog as soon as the water starts to flow. The single cleaning surface closest to the pump is inherently designed to work this way. (See A below) As the conventional strainer basket loads, the curved surface of the basket severely disrupts the natural flow path of the water. This creates turbulence and friction which equates to added head loss. The pump efficiency falls out of its best performance range and consumes more electricity. If large pieces of debris such as a plastic bag, piece of newspaper, large leaves, etc. find their way into a "pot strainer", it can cause instant and dramatic blockage of the water supply to the pump. As consultants, we are all aware of the domino effect this event creates. Our multi basket design offers far superior protection if this occurs on a ProStrainer™ system.

ProStrainer™ is a remarkably simple way to give your customers far more effective straining and much lower operation and maintenance costs.

With ProStrainer™ , the debris laden water goes into the horizontal chamber which is designed to enhance the natural flow of water, not impede it like the vertical bodies and baskets of "pot strainers". This unique body style houses multiple separate horizontally installed strainer baskets with the open end of each basket facing the incoming water. This configuration eliminates all resistance to the entering water. As debris is primarily collected at the effluent end of the baskets, the water is able to escape around the trapped debris through 10 to 15 differently positioned flow surfaces, instead of just one. The effective collection surface of Prostrainer's™ baskets is 200% to 400% greater than single basket "pot strainers".
